Many of our luxury holiday cottages may be located in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, but sadly, we cannot guarantee that you won’t have a spot of rain while you are staying with us - especially as Autumn is upon us! As we seem to be having one of the wettest ‘summers’ ever, we thought it would be a good time to think of some things you can do on a rainy day! Hopefully, these suggestions will help you to keep the kids (and the grown-ups) entertained!
#1 – Try a Spot of Baking
On a rainy day, there’s nothing quite as enjoyable as tucking into something delicious with a hot cup of tea or some creamy hot chocolate. Why not try baking something yourselves? Cookies, brownies, cupcakes; the possibilities are endless!
#2 – Visit an Indoor Attraction
There are plenty of things to see and do even when it’s raining. Here are just a few of the best indoor attractions in and around the Lake District:
#3 – Watch a Movie
Whether you decide to stay in a watch a movie in the comfort of your luxury holiday cottage or venture out to one of the local cinemas, a movie day is a great way to spend a rainy day.
#4 – Get Crafty
Getting stuck into some arts and crafts can help you and the kids forget about the bad weather outside. It’s a great idea to take supplies with you, ready for a rainy day so you are prepared if you need it.
#5 – Grab Your Waterproofs!
The great thing about the Lake District is that it is a beautiful area come rain or shine. As long as you have the appropriate clothing and footwear, you can still enjoy an active day in the Lakes! Kids, grown ups and pets can have the best adventure, and of course if you have dogs you wont be afraid of getting out in the rain. Our pet friendly cottages in the Lake District can offer the perfect place to return to after those wet walks!
Our luxury holiday cottages in the Lake District provide a great base for your holiday. No matter the weather, we are sure that you will have a great time when you stay in one of our beautiful cottages. Check out our availability online, and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
