We found a place nothing short of perfection. In a quiet countryside location, easily accessible, is a home where everything has been thought of. From pre arrival instructions to guide the traveller to parking outside your door. The cottage itself is an open plan layout leading on to a private patio with wide ranging views. If your lucky you may see hares running in the fields. The furniture and furnishings are of exceptional quality and taste. We literally could have transported everything home. The kitchen is well equipped. There is everything you need to cater - from a glass of wine to a 3 course meal. There is an honesty bar for a thirsty traveller. There are also coffee pods and even a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge, generously left by the hosts. We enjoyed the butchers pack (£20), which was full of local goodies and fresh eggs from the hosts’ own chickens. The bed is very comfortable with high quality linens. The shower is powerful and the towels soft and luxurious. The hosts Suzanne and Kevin are delightful. They are very helpful but also unobtrusive. We’d love to go back. Don’t hesitate, go! |
This is a wonderful cottage in a fabulous location, with a patio giving a panoramic view of the countryside. The interior fittings and decoration are of a very high standard. The layout of the open plan living area is welcoming and provides an ideal cozy retreat! |
We really enjoyed our week in the lodge@bowland. The Lodge was excellent and the hosts Suzanne and Kevin made us feel very welcome.
The Forest of Bowland is a beautiful part of the country to explore. Together with outstanding accommodation and thoughtful hosts, our three day break was just what we needed to wind down and relax. Would highly recommend!
We’ve had a very comfortable stay at the ‘Lodge, which had everything we could want, plus a couple of owner inspired nice surprises.
The peaceful and extensive countryside views from the lounge and patio were really lovely, as were the dozens of birds that visited the feeder in the garden every day.
A lot of thought has gone into the design and furnishing of the ‘Lodge, and this, combined with the welcome and friendliness of the owners and a convenient location for touring a beautiful area, is a good reason to return to see the many places we’ve still to discover.
Thanks for a lovely stay
We had a lovely stay in the most delightful Lodge at Bowland. The Lodge is perfect- everything you could possibly need and such a high standard. Beautiful views across the countryside from the lounge and many lovely places to visit nearby. Suzanne and Kevin were so welcoming and helpful. We would recommend highly and hope to return.
This has to be the best holiday rental we've ever had. A well designed and spacious lodge for 2 people it has been furnished to a very high standard. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived as were the glasses, crockery and cutlery. The owners were very helpful and provided fully comprehensive instructions prior to our arrival on numerous things including how to use various appliances. The patio was, for us, the "jewel in the crown" as we were able to eat outside on occasions and admire the view and local wildlife. As with the inside of the lodge, the patio furniture was of a very high standard. Situated in a quiet location, but not far from the M6, this is surrounded by wonderful countryside and close to the Trough of Bowland.
Beautiful accommodation in a lovely setting. So much attention to detail with everything. Lovely hosts and good communication pre and during our stay. Would definitely love to go back.
