Throughout the summer, Scotland is filled with festivals, shows and events and, this August, there is a large variety of events to see in the beautiful country. From music to dance to motor vehicles, there is something for everyone. Here are five events to see in Scotland this August:

Feis an Eilein: The Skye Festival

4th July – 28th August, Isle of Skye

The Skye festival hosts a diverse range of music, comedy, dance and so much more. Taking place in venues mostly in the Sleat peninsula at the southern end of the island, the Skye Festival is a celebration of island culture and performing arts, with a strong focus on Scottish traditional music.

The festival hosts around 30 top quality events in music and innovative theatre you can’t miss out on!

Aberdeen Youth Festival

28th July – 5th August, Aberdeen

This festival showcases the best youth talent from all over the world, and also includes all sorts of entertainment like concerts, recitals, music, dancing, theatre and massed choirs. This unique and diverse festival is one of the world’s biggest celebrations of youth performers.

Ignition Festival of Motoring

4th – 6th August, Glasgow

If you’re a fan of motor vehicles, this is a festival for you. This spectacular event displays classic cars, supercars, rally cars, motorcycles and much more – perfect for vehicle aficionados everywhere! The Top Gear Live stunt team will even inject further thrills as they bring flair and excitement to the live action zone.

Edinburgh Fringe Festival

4th – 28th August, Edinburgh

This is the world’s biggest celebration of the arts. The Fringe Festival runs for three weeks, hosting a mix of culture and art, theatre, music and dance, exhibition, children’s shows and more. Thousands of performers take to hundreds of stages all over the city to present shows of all kinds and for every taste.

Edinburgh International Book Festival

12th – 28th August, Edinburgh

This is the world’s biggest book festival where you can meet authors from all over the world. It also includes discussions, lectures, debates and workshops. Set in the heart of Edinburgh, this Book Festival offers something for just about every age and interest, bringing readers and writers together for inspiration, entertainment and discussion.
