Hawkshead Christmas Fair & Beer Festival – 3rd & 4th December
Hawkshead village is the picturesque location to this annual fair, where you can expect children’s rides and great entertainment all around. You’ll find jugglers, stilt walkers, magicians and street theatre, as well as live music. There will be more than fifty indoor and outdoor seasonal craft and gift stalls, where you can find everything, from rugs to puddings and trinkets.
A Winter Beer Festival will also be held in the village’s pubs, where you’ll be able to enjoy twenty-five selected winter ales and beers. Hawkshead Brewery will also offer a range of festive ales.
Traditional Keswick Christmas Fayre – 4th December
The 30th Keswick Traditional Victorian Christmas Fayre will take place in Keswick town centre. You can expect around 30 charity stalls selling crafts, produce and jewellery, fantastic live music and great street and stage entertainment. Hot and cold food and drinks will be available as well, and if you love dressing up you can also arrive in Victorian costume!
There will be beautiful decorations in the form of colourful lights and an amazing Christmas tree, as well as local characters that will liven up the event! Santa and his six Cairngorm reindeer will also be there in his Grotto, from 12 o’clock noon to 3pm.
Ja Windermere Christmas Market – 10th & 11th December
If you want to experience a Christmas market with a twist, why not head over to Windermere this month? The Ja Windermere Christmas Market is a German market that will showcase more than forty local stalls of produce with a German touch, from delicious food and drinks to seasonal gifts and soaps.
You’ll also have live music in the form of a brass band and choirs, and street entertainment, as well the Mountain Goat Santa’s Grotto – a must for the kids!
Cartmel Christmas Food Market – 16th December
This popular market occurs every third Friday of the month and features the most amazing food from the area. If you enjoy food markets, then Cartmel’s is exactly what you’ve been looking for! You can find stallholders like the famous Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding, Lancashire Cheese and Chilli Pepper Company.
The picturesque setting of Cartmel is truly the perfect location for this food market, which will happen adjacent to the Priory.
