The Piggery is one of three barn conversions. It has been tastefully renovated, beautifully furnished, and extensively equipped for the discerning holidaymaker to enjoy and admire the standard of accommodation provided. It is wheelchair accessible and ideal for the less mobile.
The Piggery presents a welcoming open-plan living space, encompassing a lounge with a smart TV, a well-equipped kitchen, and a designated dining area. Notably, the ground floor includes a wheelchair-accessible bedroom with an en-suite shower room, ensuring inclusivity and convenience. The thoughtful design extends to the first floor mezzanine, which features a double bedroom and an en-suite bathroom. This arrangement provides a comfortable and accessible retreat, catering to various needs for a seamless and enjoyable stay.
In addition to the three barn conversions available (Spring Cottage, Autumn Cottage and The Piggery), there is a separate barn equipped with a dining room and a play area for rainy days. It is important to note that at least two properties must be reserved together to access the celebration lodge at this location.
Barrows Green is within easy driving distance of the market town of Kendal. More than a market town on the edge of the Lakes, there’s always something to do in Kendal – whatever the weather including indulgent shopping experiences, incredible food and drink, adventurous activities, and leisurely strolls with wonderful views all around. Events and festivals are an excellent way to experience Kendal’s unique culture.
The Piggery is located on the ’Gateway to the Lakes’, providing easy access to the M6, Lake District, and Yorkshire Dales. This makes it an ideal holiday retreat and touring base. The popular market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, home to Ruskin’s View is within 20 minutes’ drive. Ingleton with its scenic waterfall trail and Ingleborough Caves can be reached within 30 minutes’ drive. In the other direction Levens Hall with its famous Topiary Gardens and café can be reached within 20 minutes. Windermere, Ambleside, and Grasmere are all easily accessible within 45 minutes. From this superb property and stunning location, there are endless things to see and do. Pub within a mile.
Each of the three barns—Spring Cottage, Autumn Cottage, and The Piggery—offers its own unique features and amenities, providing guests with various options for their stay. When booked together through ' Helm Mount Lodge' it provides accommodation for up to 18 guests offering the perfect space for parties, celebrations and family gatherings.

Great location, great accommodation, great amenities… hard to beat this if you’re looking for an easily-reached middle-of-the-country option for a large group. We had 16 adults and 5 small children and we were fully accommodated by the wonderful hosts. When you’re this close to a pub, farm play park, walks literally out of your door, Oxenholme station and the M6 there’s little more you could ask for.
