The open-plan sitting room includes a dining area and a kitchen area with pitch pine floors throughout. Log burner and Hyperfast broadband throughout.
There is one double bedroom with super king-size bed. En-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower. Shaver socket.
Excellent cottage remote but accessible. Very relaxing great for 2 people . Quality accommodation in a fabulous setting . Would rent again for a short break and recommend to family and friends.
Good throughout. Only downside was parking at the top when 2 cars there, 1 needs to back out no room to turn round. Tight reversing out. Friendly staff good instructions and lovely food at the restaurants they recommended
| We loved our stay at The Dog House. The cottage was exceptionally clean and so welcoming as the lights and heating were on ready for us. Parking just outside was perfect. There is a footpath leading onto the fell nearby so we did see a couple of people go past during our stay but we weren’t disturbed. The cottage is really well equipped with lovely furnishings and great wifi. The only thing we couldn’t find was a chopping board (we did have a good look but maybe it was hiding somewhere). We absolutely loved the super king bed & always wish more cottages would have one! So luxurious! We had some lovely trips out including Kirkby Lonsdale town and walks around Dent with a stop at the Stone Close tea room. Also would recommend the train journey from Ribblehead (free parking) You will go over the viaduct and through miles of stunning scenery; we got off at Armathwaite where there are some lovely walks along the river and a couple of pubs. Great day out. Recommend also fish & chips from Jingling Lane in Kirkby Lonsdale and the Barbon Inn for drinks or pub food. We are sure there is so much more to discover in this beautiful part of the world so will definitely be back, hopefully will be at another of your lovely cottages. Thank you! |
Great value for money. Very peaceful. Clean. Beautiful welcome basket. Very dog friendly. Tranquil. Only drawback are the very narrow lanes to reach the cottage. Once there ample parking.
This is our third stay at Mill House Cottages. The Dog House is so comfortable, clean and cosy with everything you need. Plenty of room to park and if the weather is good you can sit outside and enjoy the wonderful view. We hope to visit again soon.
