One of the best things about staying in a self-catered cottage is the freedom that it allows you to come and go as you please, enjoying the local area whilst having a private and luxurious cottage to return to. While there are bound to be fantastic restaurants in the vicinity for you to choose from, many of our guests choose to make use of our fully kitted kitchens and make their own meals. If you’re looking for quick and easy (but delicious) recipes, read on!
Homemade Burgers (serves 4)
One of the simplest, yet most delicious things to make on holiday has got to be a simple beef burger.
What You’ll Need:
Whisk the egg, salt and pepper together in a bowl then add the mince and breadcrumbs. Get stuck in and mix the ingredients well before forming 4 patties. Meanwhile, heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry for 6-8 mins on each side.
Serve in burger buns with salad and your sauce of choice. For something a little more exciting, why not try adding ½ tsp of paprika or cayenne pepper to the mixture before frying?
Simple Chicken Stir-fry (serves 4)
Stir-fries are quick and simple and are sure to be a hit with the whole family!
What You’ll Need:
Start by slicing the chicken into bite size pieces and fry in a wok with the vegetable oil. Fill a large saucepan with water and bring to the boil. Add the noodles to the water once boiled whilst keeping an eye on the chicken. Once the chicken has no traces of pink, add the mixed vegetables and continue to fry for 2-3 mins. Drain the noodles once they are soft and add to the wok with the sauces. Continue cooking for another 2-3 mins.
Serve with prawn crackers, and if you’re looking for something a little saucier, double the soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce measurements.
Our self-catered kitchens come complete with everything you need to serve a delicious meal to your family and friends.
