Old School Hall (sleeping 6) & The Classroom (sleeping 4) are one building divided into two properties. Formerly a village school, steeped in history and unique architecture & built in 1875, this building has been fully renovated to provide stunning accommodation.
Walking through the original front door of the Old School Hall you enter a spacious dining room & kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped boasting a large centre island, breakfast bar and modern appliances. For parties up to 10 the dining area can hold larger groups and the table expands to seat all your guests. There is a separate lounge through from the dining room with plenty of relaxing seating, a wood burner and smart TV. The patio doors open from the lounge into the secured garden. Stone mullioned leaded light windows are throughout the property with stunning wood roof trusses on show on the first floor. Upstairs offers 3 bedrooms, 2 king size beds both with en suite wet rooms. The third bedroom has a super king size bed which can be split in to 2 large singles if required. This bedroom is beside the family bathroom which is a wet room with a roll top bath.
The Classroom offers a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living space with patio doors opening onto the secured outdoor space. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking essentials with a breakfast bar creating a social space for you to enjoy. The lounge has a smart TV, comfy seating, wood burner and dining table. Upstairs, the first floor offers two en suite king size bedrooms, one with a roll top bath & shower and the other a shower & dressing room. There are original leaded light windows throughout the property with stunning wood roof trusses on the first floor.
Whittington is a small village to the south of the popular market Town of Kirkby Lonsdale, there are great walks straight from the property along the river towards Kirkby. From there you can also explore Hutton Roof & Farleton Fell; a beautiful limestone wilderness.
Whittington is set between the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales National Parks, and the Forest of Bowland. It is an excellent location for exploring the lakes, dales, and surrounding towns and villages. The area is a haven for walkers, cyclists, golfers & fishing. Popular activities such as paddle boarding can be enjoyed on Windermere and for train enthusiasts the famous Settle to Carlisle train journey, Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway are within an hour’s drive.
