Box Tree Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. Lovely spacious and well equipped kitchen/ dining area with all the essentials for self catering, including coffee maker & milk frother. Downstairs underfloor heating keeps the cottage warm and cosy at all times. Spacious bedrooms and bathroom. Great location with several walks from the door, including to Kirkby Lonsdale and back.
This was our first stay at box tree cottage and we have booked again for next year. Absolutely fantastic cottage set in a very picturesque location with several walks right from the front door. Everything about Boxtree Cottage is fabulous. Very rare to find a holiday cottage of this quality; we enjoyed two weeks' stay and didn't want to leave! The kitchen looks just like a showroom with top of the range fittings and equipment and a beautiful worktop, there is a generous dining area with comfortable chairs and lovely china. Even the table mats are 'posh'! The sitting room is beautifully decorated and very relaxing with a really comfortable sofa and armchair and gorgeous lamps. The bathroom is 'wow' - and the beds are blissfully comfortable. Even the utility room is 'state of the art'. Outside there is a half acre paddock leading down to a stream plus a very pretty front garden and, as Boxtree is quietly situated just on the edge of the village, the gardens are quiet and peaceful. Barbon is a very pretty village with a great specialist cheese shop and lovely cafe where they do great breakfasts. I can guarantee you will love this cottage, the village and the very welcoming owners!
We love coming to Box Tree Cottage. We've booked it for three consecutive years and the welcome we receive from Peter and Jan is always very warm and they've thought of every comfort in the cottage. It feels like coming home.
Fantastic cottage in a quiet village. Spotlessly clean, so cosy too. Really well presented and all we could need for our stay. Peter was friendly and helpful but didn't intrude unless asked. Superbly decorated and furnished couldn't find fault. Lovely log burner for the evenings , large bath and very efficient underfloor heating. Would recommend.
| Having just enjoyed a lovely 2 weeks in this property, we would recommend it wholeheartedly. Beautiful location at end of very small village with a dog secure garden, it is perfect for that peaceful getaway. The house was immaculate on arrival, beautifully and tastefully decorated and cosy and private. Everything you need for a holiday is supplied. We are great foodies and enjoy cooking and the local area is well catered for with great suppliers and the house had all the cooking implements we needed which was excellent. Lovely local pub and cafe/deli within a few hundred metres. Owners live next door but they were very friendly and helpful but not obtrusive in any way. Great location for access to the Lake District or Dales country make this cottage an obvious choice for the discerning holidaymaker. |
