Autumn Cottage is one of three barn conversions on the Helm Mount complex, the Cottage has been tastefully renovated, beautifully furnished and fully equipped for all your needs.
Additionally, the availability of a separate barn equipped with a dining room and a play area for rainy days adds a thoughtful touch to the overall experience. The accommodation is well-equipped to cater to different needs, whether it's enjoying meals together or entertaining activities during less favorable weather. It's worth noting that reserving at least two properties together is a requirement to access the barn at this location, adding a communal aspect to the accommodations.
Barrows Green is within easy driving distance of the market town of Kendal. More than a market town on the edge of the Lakes, there’s always something to do in Kendal – whatever the weather including indulgent shopping experiences, incredible food and drink, adventurous activities, and leisurely strolls with wonderful views all around. Events and festivals are an excellent way to experience Kendal’s unique culture.
Autumn Cottage is located on the ’Gateway to the Lakes’, providing easy access to the M6, Lake District, and Yorkshire Dales. This makes it an ideal holiday retreat and touring base. The popular market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, home to Ruskin’s View is within 20 minutes’ drive. Ingleton with its scenic waterfall trail and Ingleborough Caves can be reached within 30 minutes’ drive. In the other direction Levens Hall with its famous Topiary Gardens and café can be reached within 20 minutes. Windermere, Ambleside, and Grasmere are all easily accessible within 45 minutes. From this superb property and stunning location, there are endless things to see and do. Pub within a mile.
The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are each half an hour away making this property the perfect base for touring all the major destinations in this stunning area.
Each of the three barns—Spring Cottage, Autumn Cottage, and The Piggery—offers its own unique features and amenities, providing guests with various options for their stay. When booked together through ' Helm Mount Lodge' it provides accommodation for up to 18 guests offering the perfect space for parties, celebrations and family gatherings.

Great location, great accommodation, great amenities… hard to beat this if you’re looking for an easily-reached middle-of-the-country option for a large group. We had 16 adults and 5 small children and we were fully accommodated by the wonderful hosts. When you’re this close to a pub, farm play park, walks literally out of your door, Oxenholme station and the M6 there’s little more you could ask for.
