Even though Valentine’s Day has come and gone, there is no doubt that you and your loved can still enjoy a romantic getaway for two. Here at Mill House, we love seeing so many couples come through our doors, so much in love and looking for the perfect place to celebrate their love as they stay with us.
So, where can you go in the Lake District to experience the most romance?
The expansive lake is something that the Lake District is famous for, it is a wonder that makes the UK one of the most beautiful countries in the world. For this reason, a Windermere Lake Cruise is perhaps one of the most romantic spots you can find in the Lake District.
Out there, in the centre of the lake, you can almost feel that you are the only two people left in the world. Well, you and the other boat riders. You can enjoy this experience on one of the many vintage boats that find their homes on the lake. Or even step off the boat for a glorious walk on the beautiful shoreline, feed the resident wildlife and take in the wonder that makes the Lake District so irresistible to many.
Slightly north of Windermere is the charming village of Grasmere. Here you can find the historic Grasmere Gingerbread shop, a family-owned business which is the delight of the small village. This recipe is so top-secret it resides in the vaults of the local bank!
What are you waiting for? Delight your love with a tasty gingerbread treat (or twenty)!
